How to charge PSP via a USB charging cable.
The Playstation portable slim and lite model and the newly released PSP 3000 presents an extra charging option for the user,this being the ability to charge psp via a USB charging cable.This feature may not be the preferred charging option for many,but this option has got it's advantages.
They allow the user to charge their system by connecting to an acceptable external device,or a system that allows a USB connection to the psp system.Suitable operating systems that support mass USB storage such as a PC with Windows XP or Mac OS.Other suitable systems may include HDD recorders,the Playstation 3 gaming console and Laptops.
The USB charging option is advantageous if your systems AC charger has suddenly stopped working,or you may be at a friends and your charger is at home and you have access to a PC.If you are on a long trip with a fully charged laptop you can charge your system via the laptop.
Note:The normal USB cable you use to transfer data to your psp will not charge your psp.You have to purchase a separate cable for this.
To charge psp using a USB charging cable.
*1 - Turn your playstation portable On.
*2 - Go to Settings.
*3 - In the settings options go to System Settings.
*4- In the system settings,select USB charge and press the button.
*5 - Choose ON and press the button to enable USB charging.If at any time you wish to disable the USB charging,select OFF and press the button.
*6 - Now plug in the USB charging cable to your psp,and the other end to your PC,
laptop or other suitable USB device.
*7 - Go to settings and choose USB connection,press the button to place the system into USB charging mode.You now may notice a sound and the power indicator light will turn orange.Your system will now be starting to charge.
When using the USB charging option you may notice that the auto sleep feature may not work.
